Right now, there’s a lot of conflict happening in various countries around the globe. Kushal Kumar, an Indian Astrologer often referred to as the ‘Modern Nostradamus’, has recently made a prediction about the start of the third world war. He mentioned that this conflict might come about because of increasing tensions between Iran and Israel, along with other geopolitical happenings.
Kushal Kumar shared a post on Medium where he talked about the possibility of a third world war, and he also posted it on LinkedIn. He mentioned in his article that June 18, 2024, could see the strongest planetary stimulus that might lead to a world war. But, June 10th and 29th, 2024, could be significant for some important events.
Well, all those dates have come and gone, and guess what? No world war has happened!
Even though his predictions have been controversial and often proven wrong, he still holds on to his status as a top astrologer!
Nostradamus and Baba Venga have also predicted a world war in 2024!
How about we check out a few well-known astrology predictions that didn’t quite hit the mark?
Astrology and the COVID-19 Pandemic:
Astrologers were unable to predict the outbreak and global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had far-reaching consequences across the world. Not being able to predict such a significant event has really made people question how accurate astrological predictions are. Astrologers also failed to predict the end of COVID-19.
Predictions about Prince Charles and Princess Diana:
Susan Lillie-Harvey, a well-known British astrologer, made detailed charts for Prince Charles and Princess Diana ahead of their wedding and noted, ‘There is a very basic relationship between them’. Their relationship really shines with great communication, a solid emotional and social connection, a strong bond in terms of culture and spirituality, and a knack for working together effectively. After their divorce, astrologers looked at their birth charts and noticed a lot of shock, anger, rebellion, and disaster. No one could have predicted the tragic death of Princess Diana.
The Hen that Predicts the Future!
Back in 1806, there was this domesticated hen in Leeds, England, that seemed to lay eggs with the message, ‘Christ is coming’. A lot of people apparently showed up at the hen and started to worry about judgment day coming up. So, it turns out the owner, who had been using some harsh ink to write on the eggs and putting them back into the poor hen, eventually admitted that those eggs weren’t actually prophetic messages after all.
Let’s take a moment to explore what Astrology really is!
Astrology looks at how far-off celestial bodies, like stars and planets, influence our lives here on Earth. Some folks believe that where the stars and planets are when you’re born can really influence your personality, how you get along with others, and even your money situation down the line. So, you know how astrology works? Well, it says that everyone is born under a specific zodiac sign. Let’s dive into Shawn Carlson’s well-known experiment that included astrologers.
Carlson ran a double-blind test to see how well astrologers could gather information about their clients based on their birth time and place, along with the positions of celestial bodies they could observe. In Carlson’s experiment, 28 well-respected astrologers took part. They decided to match over 100 horoscopes with psychological profiles created by the California Psychological Index.
On December 5, 1985, the journal Nature published the results. The study showed that astrologers were unable to better match birth charts with the personality tests. Carlson wrapped things up by saying that the result ‘clearly refutes the astrophysical hypothesis’.
Is Astrology Real or Not? Let’s Talk About What Science Says!
Astrology isn’t really seen as a scientifically valid method for predicting life events or understanding personality traits. Let’s take a look at some important points that show its limitations.
Lack of Scientific Support in Astrology:
There’s really no scientific proof that links celestial activities directly to what’s happening here on earth. There’s no scientific backing for astrology, and it doesn’t really offer any solid, testable ways to show how celestial bodies might affect our lives.
Astrologers often use a technique called cold reading.
Astrologers frequently rely on cold reading techniques, where they make broad statements that can resonate with many individuals, giving the impression that they truly grasp the nuances of someone’s life.
Hey, how about we check out a typical example from an astrologer?
You’ve got this really caring and nurturing side to you. It’s great to see how much you enjoy helping others and being there for the people in your life. People are drawn to you for advice and comfort because of your empathy. But, during this time, they also make the most of your empathy.
Astrologers and Their Role in Fraud and Misinformation:
Some astrologers might get involved in shady practices, like collecting personal info through sneaky ways or relying on broad statements to make their predictions.
Let’s check out an example of this as well! So, you’ve likely come across a lot of astrologers talking about this.
It looks like your birth chart shows that Saturn is having quite a tough impact on you right now! Right now, Saturn is throwing some major hurdles your way, especially when it comes to your job and your relationships. But you know, with my unique therapeutic approaches, like doing rituals or wearing certain gemstones, I can really help lessen those negative effects and invite some positive changes into your life.
Astrologers and Confirmation Bias:
These days, modern astrology seems to lean a lot on confirmation bias. You know, when an astrologer talks about a situation as an ‘opportunity for personal development’ instead of making a real prediction? It’s kind of made people lose trust in the whole thing.
Ancient Astrology and Modern Astrology:
Traditional Hellenistic astrology, built on centuries of observation, feels more rigorous and harmonious compared to modern methods. Psychology has really shaped modern astrology, making it more about internal issues and less about strict methods.
No Scientific Method in Astrology:
Astrology doesn’t really stick to the scientific method, which is all about making predictions that can be tested and then checking them out through experiments and observations. Astrology doesn’t really have a way to repeat or verify its predictions, which is something that’s pretty essential for any scientific theory. Astrology can be pretty inconsistent when it comes to predictions and interpretations, which makes it tough to verify or replicate the results.
All these points together show that astrology isn’t a scientifically valid method for predicting life events or understanding personality traits. Astrology, to put it simply, is considered a pseudoscience. It cannot forecast life events or provide a method for operation.
Hey, what are your thoughts on Astrology? Is it real science or just some pseudoscience stuff? I’d love to hear what you think!
